Mirrors of consciousness

Image
Can you see yourself in other people?  Dr. David Hawkins in his book  Power Vs. Force , talks a lot about consciousness and his life work and research. He has built a map of consciousness and a methodology on how to navigate this field. He discovered this "map" and these levels based on a simple tool. The human body. The muscle system is inexact. For example, by experimenting truth or false statements on the bodies of a lot of individuals, the body reacts in a certain way to Truth, or False. His ideas are connected somehow to Carl Jung who researched the "Collective unconscious", as well as Nietzche who said, "There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy". What you see in other people, is not really them, its a mirror of you. The "good" and the "bad". It might be probable that what you see is in them. But it's mainly you, you are seeing yourself in others. The more you know, and grow, the more details and prop...

Jordan Peterson

Who is Jordan Peterson? A Canadian clinical psychologist and a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. Who wrote the infamous   12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos , a national and international bestseller. Peterson is a very bright thinker. He has without a doubt helped millions of people worldwide including me. If I were to see him by chance, I would give him a hug. However, His "thoughts and rules" are turning slowly to be a cult - patriarchal one. Which is no less dangerous. I would recommend to him to insert rule #13 - "Follow your self". Peterson talks about the cold war and reality at the beginning. In the cold war, each of the Americans and Russians had different views of reality based on their set of beliefs. And they were willing to bomb the planet to preserve those beliefs. It doesn't matter if its about socialism or capitalism. Beliefs shape how you view reality. There are even beliefs in you that you are not aware of. This will le...

Aristocrats and nobility

What is noble? Who are aristocrats? Aristocracy is a form of government that places strength in the hands of a small, privileged ruling class. The meaning of the term "Rule of the best".In  Beyond good and evil , Nietzche dives deep into aristocrats' personality and psychology, and asks "What is noble?" One must not resign any humanitarian illusions about aristocratic history. Aristocrats are: Psychological barbarians - more complete men or beasts - Barbarians with every terrible meaning of the word  Believe in long scale of gradation of rank - require slavery in some form Men of prey with desire for power against weaker, more moral, peaceful races The cause of every elevation in society Formed higher, rarer, and more extended states of the soul Doesn't lower themselves as a function of kingship or commonwealth  Accept with a good conscience the sacrifice of the common - For their sake, The rest must be suppressed, reduced to imperfect men, to slaves and in...

Intro to aggrandizement

What is aggrandizement and who is Friedrich Nietzche (1844-1900)? Friedrich Nietzche is a german philosopher, cultural critic, composer, poet, and philologist whose work has exerted a profound influence on modern intellectual history. One of his main concerns is the aggrandizement of humanity, which is making out of humans something larger, bigger, and more powerful. It seems more like an obsession that took over him. In his book  Beyond good and evil , he discusses the idea of aggrandizement - "A New Greatness" - and claims that this was "the task" of philosophers. Properties of greatness: Capable of being different Most solitary and concealed Live by personal initiative  Most divergent - familiar and accustomed to many fields Creator of values Master of virtues Super-abundant of will  Nietzche saw a general degeneration of man, especially due to democracy. As you notice this, you will experience great agony. The after-effect of this was the declaration of ind...

Intro to dreams

What does the founder of psychoanalysis (Sigmund Freud) say on dreams? Dreams are psychic phenomena. Dreams are beneficial to sleep, they prevent us from waking by the stimuli that is presented in the dream. Excessive anxiety for instance won't allow us to sleep nor dream. The following is based on  Introduction to psychoanalysis . There can be 2 kinds of stimuli to dreams: External - Music, environment... Internal - Somatic stimuli, such as body condition The dream doesn't simply reproduce the stimuli, but elaborate - play upon it - replace it. The dreamer himself only is to tell the meaning of the dream. The dreamer does know what his dream meant but doesn't know that he knows, therefore believes he doesn't know. Same as in hypnotic experiences. The dream as a whole is a distorted substitute for something subconscious. The subconscious in our dream leads us back to the infantile stage - When you dream, you are an infant. Freud developed a method for discerning the me...

Directed evolution

What do I mean by directed evolution? Evolution is a process that exists in nature. Evolution is a title humans gave to a natural phenomenon, It is not accurate and I question if it's about survival, maybe survival is the lowest degree of motivation. There are multiple branches, such as psychological evolution. You can notice that not all paths of evolution lead to a "better" outcome. For example, lock someone in a room for 30 years, he is not probably going to return better. Many anthropologists claim, that the agricultural revolution was a crisis to humans' life quality that civilization hasn't still recovered from and might never will. The word "better" evolution is subjective to each individual, yet, I think it is worth discussing it. Although a lot of individuals, don't want to be individuals, they are satisfied with being part of a group, family, cult, organization, etc. They think with the group. For those who seek to be individuals, There can...

Warrior strategy

Who is Miyamoto Musashi? A Japenese famous duelist and undefeated samurai warrior, who composed The book of five rings  in 1643. In his book, he teaches strategy principles-based on Ichi school, mainly from the mental and spiritual dimensions.   The way of the warrior is the resolute acceptance of death, not just that, he studies strategy based on overcoming enemies. Some strategy principles: Have one thing, to know ten thousand things Treat training as part of normal life Merge with nature, know the rhythm of any situation There is time and place for use of each weapon Don't become over-familiar with one weapon, it's the same as not knowing it Your spirit should be: Determined but calm. Settled but unbiased. Not tense but not reckless. Hidden from your enemy perception. Elevated and low spirits are both weak. Strive for balance. Your purpose and attention should be focused on cutting the enemy. Some fighting strategies: To pass on: If the enemy in rush, you relax and be ...

Analyzing errors

Who is Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) ? An Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis. First of all, I am impressed by his critical thinking and his attempts to reject his thoughts and conclusions. It is difficult to keep track of every questioning he makes regarding his assumptions and the casualty of the train of his thoughts. In his book Introduction to psychoanalysis , he deals with the psychology of errors and dreams and neurosis. What kind of errors? "Meaningless" errors, such as slip of tongue or casual forgetfulness. Freud in contrast, claims they have importance and meaning. He summons laws of determinism and free association for his cause(For later discussion). In short, Freud thinks of errors as a collision between 2 intentions. One that is conscious and one that is unconscious. For example, you might forget your car keys before going to the grocery The conscious intention: Going to the grocery and buying stuff The unconscious intention: You don't want t...
